Meet the Chef

Head chef Noureddine Lakbichy has been involved in the Italian food and drink industry since his childhood days in Tuscany, working in extremely busy and vibrant restaurants all over Europe. Learning and working in both aspects, kitchen and front-of-house.

He grew to have a passion for using only the finest fresh ingredients coupled with high-end quality wines, plus giving the best possible customer service at all times.

Noureddine states; Now I’m in a position of running my own restaurant I can now put forward all of my passion, enthusiasm and knowledge. Ultimately giving all of our customers the greatest of dining experiences.

Enjoy the taste of italy

Our restaurant combines the flavours of the north and the south and feels the diversity of regions and aromas. A beautiful setting for a peaceful evening, catching up with old friends or planning a romantic night. You won’t spend much money, but you’ll get a lot in return. It’s ideal to start with a bottle of wine and a slice of exquisite garlic bread that melts in your mouth.

Ok so I don’t often give a review, but thought I should do for this. Tonight decided to order fish and chips as a takeaway from Gigi and without doubt it was the best I have had. Quality, non greasy, beautiful fish, chips, mushy peas and lemon quarters. One was enough for two people. Have eaten fish and chips from Whitby to Rick Stein to Gordon Ramsey , this was better. Don’t hesitate to try it.

Had one of the nicest meals last night. Lobster to start was just divine and my mouth is watering writing this!! The staff and service were impeccable, can’t wait to go back!! And the blanket for when it gets a bit cooler outside are a nice touch 👌🏼

Hidden Gem! The modest frontage hides a tastefully rustic and spacious interior, subtly lit with twinkling white lights and candles. Bright but atmospheric. The wine list is amazing! And the food is outstandingly good. The owner, Noureddine, is an accomplished chef, a wine connoisseur and has a wonderful professional front of house presence, noticing every detail and offering a warm personal welcome to every customer. The staff were friendly, attentive and unpretentious. Full of local knowledge. We really liked them.

Simply the best Wow, what a beautiful place, the food is amazing and the staff are very friendly without being over friendly. And the food, well that was just stinning. Had the most amazing evening celebrating my Husband's birthday. By the time we had finished our starters we had book for a Sunday roast tomorrow. I would just like to thank all the staff for looking after us, the chef and staff for the most amazing food and the owner for clearly being an brilliant boss, as you only get that kind of service from happy staff. Highly recommend ❤

Birthday If you want quality food and wine this is the place to go. If you want fast food go to the pizza hut. Waiting for the meal is part of the experience which also lets you know it is bring cooked fresh not thrown in a microwave. We had fillet steak this time 3 different preferences znd each one perfectly cooked as requested. We had starters of a shared platter that would have filled any normal person to the brim we were also given complimentary homemade bread to taste with balsamic and olive oil dip amazing. We gave visited before and had all Italian dishes which were huge and beautiful flavours. The staff are attentive without being intrusive and knowledgeable. The chef/owner is very very passionate about the quality of his products and sources his meat and fish locally where possible. We know all this as he took the time to talk in depth after the evening had finished about his desire to please the customers. For a small out of the way village the is the jewel in the crown. North somercotes is very lucky to have such a first class restaurant. Of course we will be eating there again it is truly a wonderful dining experience with the perfect ombience.
